Young Tigers, the under-23 (U-23) Malaysian football squad, has qualified for the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup to be held in Qatar next year

Malaysia secured the spot in the upcoming Under-23 Asian Cup in Doha, Qatar, in spite of failing to finish as the Group H winner and earn an automatic slot, thanks to some good fortune.

Malaysia edged out Iran on disciplinary criteria to emerge as one of the top four second-placed teams after both sides were tied with three points each from two matches, on goal difference and goals scored.

This marks the third appearance of the national football squad in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup after participating in 2018 and 2022

Malaysia's best result in the AFC U-23 was during the 2018 edition when the squad reached the quarter-finals.
