Women's doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan pulled off a sensational win against Indonesia in their final Group A match at the 2024 Olympic Games today, 30 July

The Malaysian pair, ranked 13th in the world, beat Indonesian duo, Apriyani Rahayu and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, 21-18, 21-9 in a 45-minute match at the Porte De La Chapelle Arena in Paris.

It was the win that the national players needed to go through to the quarterfinals

In doubles, the top two from each group will advance to the knockout stage, where they will be redrawn.

The Malaysian pair will be advancing along with China's top seeds Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan.

China and Malaysia in Group A will be advancing to the quarterfinals in the badminton women's doubles.

Here are the schedules for Team Malaysia's next matches in badminton:

Women's singles Goh Jin Wei will face South Korea's world No. 17 Kim Ga-eun to decide their group winner at 2.30pm on Wednesday, 31 July.

Meanwhile, men's singles Lee Zii Jia will also play against Spain's world No. 62 Pablo Abian at 8pm tomorrow.
