Grab Malaysia Announces Major Rewards For Olympic And Paralympic Medalists

Grab Malaysia has announced rewards and goodies for our athletes competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics

According to the food delivery and ride hailing company, Malaysian athletes and para-athletes who win gold will be honoured with a year of free GrabFood and awarded one million GrabRewards points.

Silver medalists will be given a year's worth of free GrabFood and 500,000 GrabRewards points, while bronze medalists will be given a year's worth of free GrabFood along with 250,000 GrabRewards points.

Grab Malaysia will also give every Malaysian athlete and para-athlete 50,000 GrabRewards points, as a way of showing appreciation for their hard work and dedication at the world stage.

In total, 26 Malaysian athletes are competing at the Paris Olympics.

Malaysia is among 15 countries worldwide currently rewarding six-figure bonuses to their athletes who win gold at the Olympics

According to a Forbes Australia analysis, Malaysia is ranked fourth in terms of the rewards offered.

"For athletes representing Malaysia, the medal paydays span a wide range. Gold earns more than USD200,000 (approximately RM993,366), while bronze medalists receive 10% of that figure.

"Regardless of where they land on the podium, Malaysian competitors are entitled to a pension for life, ranging between roughly USD400 and USD1,100 a month," the analysis read.
