[PHOTOS] Who Are The 30 Malaysian Para-Athletes Going To The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games?
Malaysian athletes have won six gold medals at the Paralympics since 2016.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, taking place from 28 August (29 August Malaysian time) to 8 September, will feature a record-breaking Malaysian contingent of 30 athletes competing across eight sports
Malaysia's contingent at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games saw 22 athletes taking part in nine sports. However, no Malaysian para-athlete qualified for the Para Table Tennis event in Paris 2024.
1. Para-athletics
A total of six athletes will represent Malaysia in para-athletics.
In the men's long jump are two-time Paralympic champion Datuk Abdul Latif Bin Romly, Muhammad Nazmi Bin Nasri, and Jonathan Wong Kar Gee.
Abdul Latif, 27, will be defending his gold medal titles in the men's T20 (intellectual disability) long jump from the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
In the men's F20 shot put event, Muhammad Ziyad Bin Zolkefli will hope to recover from the setback of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The 34-year-old Rio gold medallist initially won gold and broke the world record.
However, after a technical appeal from the Ukrainian team, both Ziyad and two other competitors were disqualified, invalidating the record and sparking an outcry from Malaysians.
In the men's sprint events, Muhammad Ammar Aiman Nor Azmi will compete in the 400m, while Eddy Bernard will compete in the 100m T44. Eddy won silver at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Para Games.
2. Para-cycling
Six para-cyclists will represent Malaysia.
Mohamad Yusof Hafizi Shaharuddin, Muhammad Adi Raimie Amizazahan, Nur Azlia Syafinaz Mohd Zais, and Nur Suraiya Muhamad Zamri will be competing in road and track.
And in the pilot category, Nurul Suhada Zainal and Farina Shawati Mohd Adnan will represent Malaysia.
3. Para-badminton
A total of five Malaysian athletes will compete in para-badminton.
Cheah Liek Hou, Mohd Amin Burhanuddin, and Muhammad Fareez Anuar will compete in the men's singles, while Muhammad Ikhwan Ramli and Noor Azwan Noorlan will compete in the men's doubles wheelchair event.
Cheah won the gold medal in the men's singles SU5 event at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, making him the first Malaysian athlete to win a medal in para-badminton.
4. Para-archery
Three Malaysian archers have qualified.
They are Suresh Selvathamby, who will compete in the individual recurve, while Daneshen Govinda Rajan and Nur Jannaton Binti Abdul Jalil will compete in the men's and women's individual compound events, respectively.
5. Boccia
Three Malaysian athletes have qualified for this precision ball sport. Chew Wei Lun, who won the silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, became the first Malaysian to win a medal in Boccia.
In Paris, Lee Chee Hong and Abdul Razzaq Abdul Rahman will participate in the men's individual event, while Noor Askuzaimey Mat Salim will compete in the women's individual event.
Abdul Razzaq and Noor Askuzaimey will also compete in the mixed pairs event.
6. Para-powerlifting
Three Malaysian athletes will participate in para-powerlifting. National powerlifting champion Bonnie Bunyau Gustin won the gold medal in the men's 72kg category at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Bonnie lifted 228kg, breaking the Paralympic Games record.
Other participants include Nicodemus Manggoi Moses in the 97kg event and Jong Yee Kee in the men's 107kg event.
Jong, who won silver at Tokyo 2020, will be aiming for gold.
7. Wheelchair tennis
Two players have qualified for wheelchair tennis.
Abu Samah Borhan will compete in the men's doubles, and Yusshazwan Yusoff will participate in both the men's singles and doubles events.
Malaysia has yet to win a medal in wheelchair tennis at the Paralympics.
8. Para-swimming
Two Malaysians have qualified for para-swimming, another sport in which the country has not yet won any medals.
Muhammad Nur Syaiful Zulkafli and Imaan Aiman Redzuan will be participating in a range of events across freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke, hoping to end Malaysia's medal drought in the sport.
