The highly anticipated Star Trek: Section 31 is set to make its debut as a direct-to-streaming movie on 24 January 2025

The movie will be available exclusively on Paramount Plus.

The premiere date was announced during a Trek panel at the New York Comic Con.

Excitement is building as Star Trek fans look forward to Malaysian actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh reprising her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, the totalitarian despot of the Terran Empire.

For those who remember, Emperor Georgiou is the alternate universe version of Captain Georgiou from Star Trek: Discovery’s first season

After being flung back in time by the mysterious Guardian of Forever, she was recruited by Section 31, the Federation's secretive organisation known for its darker, behind-the-scenes dealings.

The film will follow Georgiou's journey as a Section 31 operative, grappling with her past while using her Mirrorverse skills to take on shadowy missions.

Originally announced as a TV series in 2019, Star Trek: Section 31 was later reimagined as a feature film

It promises an even more intense look into the covert side of the Federation.

Alongside Yeoh, the film features an impressive cast, including Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok, Omari Hardwick, Robert Kazinsky, and Miku Martineau, who will portray a young Philippa Georgiou.

For Malaysians, we might have to wait a little while as Paramount Plus isn't available here, yet.
