Android Is Finally Getting An AirDrop-Like Function, And It's Called Nearby Share
It's currently only available to certain Android users.

iPhone users have always been able to enjoy the convenience of easily transferring photos, thanks to the AirDrop function
However, Android users haven't been able to do the same, and have had to use various apps like Telegram or WhatsApp to send photos instead.
That is, until now.
Android is developing and improving a function called Nearby Share, which is supposed to work similarly to AirDrop
Mishaal Rahman, an expert on Android, recently identified the new feature, and explained that Nearby Share may start appearing directly in the Android system share sheet.
Just like AirDrop, Nearby Share will detect nearby devices that are prepared to receive files, which will be conveniently displayed directly on the sharing interface, streamlining the process.
It's currently only available to certain Android users
Google has yet to roll out this feature to the masses, though it is steadily reaching more users. Some users on X have reported having this feature available on the Android share screen.
If you have a rooted device, you may follow the instructions in this tweet to enable the feature instantly. However, we advise against rooting your device to maintain its security features. It's better to wait for the official release of the Nearby Share feature.
