Apple has kicked off a massive new ad campaign in the form of an ad video for its Safari browser, framing privacy as a necessity rather than an afterthought
The over 1-minute long campaign film takes a comical but unsettling look at data tracking, showing literal strangers in chrome outfits staring over users' shoulders as they surf the web.
The ad ends with a sharp reminder of what is at stake, with Apple concluding: "Safari. A browser that's actually private."
According to Apple, this privacy push is set to dominate physical billboards and digital advertisements in cities worldwide, taking a direct swipe at less secure web browsers.

Apple claims Safari is a much safer and secure alternative that utilises Intelligent Tracking Prevention, which deploys on-device machine learning to quietly block cross-site trackers
The browser also now features a default fingerprint defence, which masks your device configuration so you look exactly like millions of other users.
To combat malicious software, Safari allows users to restrict extension permissions to one day, a specific website, or always.
Its Private Browsing mode, on the other hand, reportedly outpaces rivals by stripping tracking parameters from web links and securing open tabs with biometric authentication.
