Since 2017, the platform has facilitated over four million booking hours, helping people get active while empowering over 270,000 registered users and 130 venues nationwide, said Courtsite chief executive officer Samuel Siew.

"Our aim has always been to empower sports venues, which historically are used to traditional booking methods using pen and paper, with end-to-end digital solutions," Siew said, adding that the platform was co-founded by Joey Ng, Ian Lai and Aaron Sheah.

The three founders created Courtsite to eliminate needless paperwork and manual processes while making it easier for sports lovers to find and book venues.

The platform has partnered with Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM), a statutory body under the Youth and Sports Ministry, (KBS) for their Kuala Lumpur Sports City and various national multi-sports complexes.

It also holds frequent community events, supports its partner venues by connecting them with Courtsite's network of sports facility vendors, and provides guidance in pricing and marketing strategies.

"We take immense pride in our suite of products and are constantly improving it to suit market needs. This allows us to be agile and pivot to what’s trending in the sports industry while ensuring our partner venues are getting bookings," Siew said, adding that the platform is currently leveraging on the pickleball wave sweeping through the Klang Valley.

"The past six months have seen us onboarding over 20 pickleball venues," Siew revealed.

The recently held Paris Olympics have not only captured global attention but have also fueled a surge in sports activity on Courtsite. The platform also aims to expand regionally soon

Since the Olympics began on 26 July 2024, Courtsite has seen a 10% increase in badminton bookings. This trend underscores the platform's ability to capitalise on major sporting events to drive user engagement.

Despite its remarkable growth, Courtsite is not resting on its laurels.

Last year, they introduced the Self-Service Reschedule feature, giving users the flexibility to adjust their bookings with ease. But that’s just the beginning.

The platform is currently rolling out Courtsite Teams, a flagship product designed to simplify the experience for sports teams. Whether it’s booking matches, managing players, securing certified referees, or processing payments, Courtsite Teams aims to be an all-in-one solution.

With over 50 football and futsal teams from more than five leagues already onboard, Courtsite plans to expand this offering to include flag football, volleyball, badminton, and basketball by early next year.

In response to the government’s e-invoice mandate, Courtsite is also integrating a feature that will allow partner venues to automate and manage their e-invoices seamlessly.

Siew also hinted at plans to launch dedicated Android and iOS apps soon, further enhancing the user experience.

"Our web page is optimised for desktop and mobile usage and has served our expanding user base well thus far. But we do have plans for apps soon," he said.
