Leading HR analytics and talent intelligence company, Accendo Technologies, has successfully passed Endeavor Malaysia's first Local Selection Panel for 2022

During the Selection Process, which was held recently, six panelists interviewed, deliberated, and selected candidates to progress to the International Selection Panel.

For this first session of 2022, the panelists were:
- Anand Krishnan, Partner at NXBT
- Tunku Alina Alias, Chair of JA Russell & Co Sdn Bhd (whose subsidiary is Boh Plantations Sdn Bhd)
- Lam Nguyen-Phuong, Former Senior Managing Partner, Co-founder, and Co-head of the Private Markets division of Capital Group
- Rafiq Razali, Group Managing Director of Media Prima

But, what does Endeavor Malaysia's Local Selection Panel entail, and why is it so important?

Founded in 1997, Endeavor is the world's leading community of high-impact entrepreneurs. Their main task is selecting, supporting, and investing in the world's top founders of tech-enabled startups, to help them achieve large-scale impact.

Today, Endeavor's network spans nearly 40 countries and supports more than 2,000 entrepreneurs around the world, including in Malaysia where it actively supports 64 companies.

Endeavor's unique entrepreneur-first model, peer-to-peer community, and trust-based network provides a platform for founders to dream bigger, scale up faster, and pay it forward to the next generation.

And through their annual Local Selection Panel, which is a rigorous merit-based selection process, Endeavor chooses high-impact entrepreneurs to support. The selection criteria involves looking at who demonstrates the potential to leverage Endeavor's resources and mentorship to create large-scale wealth and jobs, as well as to create enduring local entrepreneurial ecosystems.

One of the reasons Accendo Technologies made it through is because of their innovative tech platform

Accendo is at the forefront of inovation with their cloud technology platform that integrates with core HRMS solutions. This creates a seamless journey that helps talents with current and evolving business needs.

What started off as a reseller of psychometrics and HR consulting, pivoted into a HR technology platform, with a win rate of more than 80% by Accendo's TalentPulse solution.

By seamlessly connecting critical talent data and processes on a single platform, Accendo creates agility through faster response time, and delivers an exceptional experience for all stakeholders. To date, they have assisted notable clients such as Axiata, Grab, Coca Cola, Axa, Maybank, CIMB, and Bursa Malaysia.

Accendo is poised to hit its goal of doubling their revenue this year and at the tail end of their first-ever fundraiser that they seek to close in the near future.

Sharma Lachu, Founder and Group CEO of Accendo Technologies, shared his thoughts on why an organisation like Endeavor can really help entrepreneurs take their companies to the next level

"Endeavor to me is similar to what athletes need. Athletes need a really strong support system, an extended ecosystem that gives you the ability to grow even more.

"Other than a strong team that can help you scale, you also need someone like Endeavor providing opportunities and guidance through their global network. They have successful entrepreneurs who are able to tell you what you may be doing wrong, and how you can do it right — helping you scale faster.

"With Endeavor's presence in over 40 countries, Accendo aspires to be a top talent intelligence platform with operations across the globe in the next few years," he said.

Meanwhile, Rafiq Razali, Group Managing Director of Media Prima and a panelist at the Local Selection Panel, chimed in on why Accendo was selected

"As an entrepreneur, Sharma has high self-awareness, something entrepreneurs should have. This has led to the indication of him as an entrepreneur to be able to understand his strengths and weaknesses.

"Sharma truly understands what people need and has a deep understanding of his space and the market. Paired with his outstanding ability to execute, it definitely would not take long for Accendo Technologies to scale, especially with the help of Endeavor's global footprint," he shared.

Moving forward, Endeavor Malaysia will start working with Accendo Technologies, extending its network of mentors and resources to grow the company

The Selection Process at Endeavor Malaysia is vital to growing entrepreneurs faster. Plus, the process of mentoring and investing in other entrepreneurs also benefits our economy, especially through the creation of job opportunities.

This is known the multiplier effect — key for building an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Malaysia where entrepreneurs can rely on one another.
