A 24-Carat Gold Pokémon Figure Exists And It Costs A Fortune

There is an actual figure of Gholdengo, a Steel and Ghost-type Pokémon canonically made of gold, that stays entirely true to its lore

Rather than standard plastic painted to look shiny, this collectible is crafted from solid 24-carat gold.

Standing at 6cm tall and weighing 15g, the figure commands an eye-watering price of 1.54 million yen (RM39,642).

At that price point, it is not exactly a casual desk ornament to toss next to your everyday capsule toys.

Fortunately, fans who cannot justify dropping that much money on a tiny figurine can still admire it for free

The exclusive piece will be showcased at the Yokohama Grand Gold Exhibition, held at the Takashimaya department store.

The exhibition runs from 30 September to 5 October and features over 1,000 gold items.

Alongside the solid gold miniature, attendees can marvel at life-sized gold statues of Gholdengo

These impressive statues are not up for sale, but they measure 50cm and 120cm, respectively.

To achieve their brilliant shine, artisans used approximately 200 sheets of gold leaf for the Pikachu and 730 sheets for the towering Gholdengo.
