No More Birdy: Twitter Is Now Known As 'X' & People Have A Lot To Say
It’s a dawn of a new era for the massively popular microblogging social media platform.
It goes without saying that Twitter and the blue bird logo have been with us for more than 15 years
Tesla founder and Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced that the microblogging site Twitter will now be known as X, complete with a new logo. The change was in the pipeline for quite a while and it finally went live earlier this week.
And now, one of the most discussed topics on Twitter, or rather X, is how familiar and hilariously simple the new logo is.
Musk explained the reason for the change earlier this week in a tweet
It read, "soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds".
This transformation from Twitter to X is in line with Musk's vision to turn the platform into an "everything app".
In a recent post on Sunday, Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino mentioned that X will focus on audio, video, messaging, payments/banking, and will incorporate artificial intelligence as well.
As of Monday, users headed to X.com domain will be redirected to Twitter's homepage, though going to Twitter.com will also produce the same result.
