Grab Is Testing A New Feature That Will Allow You To Negotiate Your Fare With Drivers
This feature is optional for both passengers and drivers. Fixed fares for JustGrab and GrabCar will still be available.

Grab is in the midst of testing a new feature called Fare Bidding in Malaysia
The feature will allow drivers and passengers to negotiate fares instead of following the fixed rate displayed by the app.
The idea of Fare Bidding is to create a transparent and flexible pricing system. It will be an optional feature for both passengers and drivers.
Drivers can choose to activate the Fare Bidding feature to negotiate prices with customers or stick to the app's fixed rate. Fixed fares for JustGrab and GrabCar will still be available.
Once Fare Bidding is activated, passengers can suggest a fare to pay for their ride, and drivers can either accept the bid or propose a higher fare within 15 seconds.
The passenger can then choose their preferred ride based on the offer — drivers will be notified within 20 seconds if they have been selected for the ride.
According to Grab, the app is currently running a "small-scale experiment" for the Fare Bidding feature
The feature is being tested in selected towns in Malaysia. Some social media users claimed to have received notifications of the feature in GrabAcademy, the in-app learning section in the Grab driver-partners app.
As of now, Grab has not provided other details, such as when the feature will be implemented or the minimum rate for passenger requests.
