The new iPod Touch will come with iOS 8, the latest operating system by Apple. On a side note, iOS 9 will be available as a free download later this year.

iPod touch comes with iOS 8 and a collection of powerful built-in apps. Send unlimited voice and video text messages through iMessage® over Wi-Fi, quickly make edits to your photos with the Photos app and keep track of your fitness and wellness with the Health app. With Family Sharing, up to six family members can share purchases from iTunes, iBooks® and the App Store, along with photos and calendars.

Performance wise, it will take a huge leap over previous the iPod Touch. Featuring the A8 chip - the same chip used in iPhone 6, the device will boast higher performance and longer last battery life

iPod touch features an Apple-designed A8 chip built on 64-bit architecture. This desktop-class chip features GPU performance up to 10 times faster than the previous-generation iPod touch — so the graphics in your favourite games are more responsive and look more vivid than ever before — and CPU performance is up to six times faster. And you get the same great battery life, with up to 40 hours of music and eight hours of video playback.

The new iPod Touch will be available in a wide array of colours. No release date and pricing has been confirmed for Malaysia yet.

Yes, the iPod may not be a priority anymore for Apple and the iPod touch hasn't been... touched in years. However, with the addition of the A8 chip and a better camera, the iPod Touch might start slipping into your hands soon.
