Malaysia May Get Its 1st Official Apple Store In KL Next Year

Apple, the Cupertino-based multinational tech giant, may open its first official retail store in Malaysia by 2022, according to local reports

The country's first Apple Store, when it opens next year, is said to be located at The Exchange TRX, the upcoming financial district on Jalan Barat in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur.

According to a report in SoyaCincau, a local tech site, representatives from Apple Retail Store visited Malaysia recently to negotiate with the management of The Exchange TRX.

SoyaCincau, reporting based on a report by The Edge Malaysia, said that there's still a lot of "cajoling and convincing" required to get Apple to open Malaysia's first retail store in the country

If it happens, Malaysia will become only the 3rd country in Southeast Asia to have an Apple Store, after Singapore and Bangkok, Thailand

In Singapore, there are three Apple Stores including one that sits on the waters of Marina Bay.

The tech giant, meanwhile, has two Apple Stores in Thailand.

Appearing as a floating sphere, Apple Marina Bay Sands is the first Apple store to sit directly on the water.

The Exchange TRX, which is located at the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2021:
