WhatsApp has a new feature that adds more layers of security to your chats and calls

WhatsApp has always boasted end-to-end encryption to ensure calls and messages are secured, but they're introducing even more features to strengthen privacy.

A new feature called Silence Unknown Callers will give you more control over who's calling you on the platform. Essentially, it helps screen out spam, scams, and calls from unknown people for increased protection. However, the calls will still be visible on your call list, but it won't ring on your phone.

This way, you can verify the number first in case it belongs to someone you actually know. You can access this feature by clicking on 'Calls' from 'Privacy' on your WhatsApp settings.

There's also the new Privacy Checkup feature that lets you control the privacy of your chats, calls, and personal information on WhatsApp

By navigating to your WhatsApp settings and clicking on the privacy settings, you'll see a new Privacy Checkup prompt that allows you to alter your layer of privacy according to your liking.

Things you can organise include choosing people who can contact you, your personal information, send disappearing messages, and even screen locking the app entirely so it can only be accessed by you.
