Proton has finally unveiled more exciting details about their latest sedan, the S70

The upcoming Proton S70 is the brand's first all-new sedan since the 2016 Persona model.

Based on the Geely Emgrand platform, the vehicle is positioned as a competitor in the C-segment, challenging other models such as the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.

This marks the company's reentry into the segment following the discontinuation of the Prevé in 2020, with the added distinction of offering a lower price point compared to its competitors.

While the price has not been revealed, Proton says the S70 bridges the gap within Proton's product lineup

The S70 is intended to bridge the gap between the Persona and the company's existing X series, particularly the X50 sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Proton added that; the decision was made to introduce a sedan due to the sufficient presence of SUVs in their current range of offerings.

Experts predict that the car may be priced between RM80,000 and RM110,000.

According to Proton, the S70 is at least 70% all-new compared to the Emgrand it is based on

A total of four variants will be available: Executive, Premium, Flagship, and Flagship X.

All variants of the car will feature a 1.5L turbocharged engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, providing a power output of 150Ps and a torque of 226Nm.

The vehicle will offer three distinct drive modes: Eco, Sport, and Comfort

This key feature sets the S70 apart from Geely's Emgrand model, upon which Proton's sedan is based.

Unlike the Chinese automaker's car, the S70 is equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged engine, diverging from Geely's use of a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 engine that delivers 115Ps and a minimum of 145Nm torque.

The S70 also comes with tons of goodies

The Premium version comes with additional features such as LED headlamps, a rear tail light bar, leatherette seats, and a reverse camera.

The Flagship variants boast an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), a tyre pressure monitoring system, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 10.3-inch LCD meter combination, a power-adjustable driver's seat, a 12.3-inch infotainment head unit, a wireless charger, and a 360-degree camera with a 3D display.

The X variant includes a sunroof as an extra feature.

It is offered in seven distinct colours: Snow White, Armour Silver, Space Grey, Passion Red, Marine Blue, Quartz Black, and Teal Bayou Green

The standard Flagship model offers a choice of all colours except Quartz Black, which is exclusive to the X variant. However, the X variant does not have the silver and red color options available.
