The Proton S70 Is Officially Launched! Here Are 4 Important Things You Need To Know

National car maker PROTON today launched the highly anticipated Proton S70, its new generation stylish and dynamic sedan at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

The launch of the car was officiated by the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Aziz.

The S70 comes in four different variants: Executive, Premium, Flagship, and Flagship X.

The Proton S70 Executive comes standard with:

- 16-inch alloy wheels
- Halogen headlights
- Snow White and Space Grey Colour options
- Electric Parking Brake (EPB)
- 8-inch infotainment head unit
- Fabric seats
- Rear air vents
- Two USB Type-C ports
- Three USB Type-A ports
- 4-speaker sound system
- Remote engine start

The Premium variant gets all of the above, with these add-ons:

- Automatic LED Headlights
- Rear Taillight bar
- Auto-folding electric door mirrors
- Armour Silver and Passion red exterior colour options
- Leatherette seats
- Automatic climate control

The Flagship adds these features into the package:

- 17-inch alloy wheels
- Marine Blue and Teal Bayou Green colour options
- Nearby auto-unlock trunk
- 12.3-inch infotainment head unit
- 10.3-inch LCD meter combination
- Power-adjustable driver seat
- Wireless mobile phone charger
- 4G & Wi-Fi connectivity
- 360-degree view camera with 3D display
- 6-speaker sound system

Finally, the Flagship X adds these:

- Sunroof
- Quartz Black colour option
- Not available in Armour Silver and Passion Red

The S70 measures 4,602mm long, 1,809mm wide, and 1,466mm tall, with a 2,627 mm wheelbase. This positions the car as a C-segment sedan, putting it among the likes of the Audi A3, Honda Civic, Mazda 3, and more.

A 1.5-litre turbocharged multi-point injection 3-cylinder powers all variants of the Proton S70, producing 150 horsepower and 226Nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission which powers the front wheels.
 
All variants of the S70 come equipped with standard safety features such as six SRS airbags, an extensive array of 13 Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features which include both active and cognitive safety systems such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Traffic Sign Information (TSI) and Lane Change Assist (LCA). It also comes kitted with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) ensures driver peace of mind and a 360 Camera with 3D Display for parking convenience.

The Proton S70 begins at RM73,800 with the Flagship variant priced at RM94,800. Here are the prices for all variants:
