Nearly two decades after it was released, Blizzard's cult classic 'StarCraft' is now available for free download, including the 'Brood War' expansion pack

The real-time strategy title was released in 1998 and it shortly became a worldwide classic. Seriously, who used to ponteng school just to play this game?

The game has been updated with a patch that makes it easier to play on modern machines

The new 1.18 patch includes new features and improvements like fullscreen windowed mode and improved anti-cheat for Windows 7, 8.1, and 10. The game is also playable on Mac Beta 10.11 onwards.

The free download comes ahead of a full, 4K remastered version of the original 'StarCraft', due out later this year.

The game has over 50 single-player missions and a popular multiplayer mode that was a hit at LAN parties before the emergence of online gaming.

The StarCraft universe has then been expanded with the release of three StarCraft II games with Wings of Liberty (2010), Heart of the Swarm (2013) and Legacy of the Void (2015).
