This Trick Will Free Space On Your iPhone Without Deleting ANYTHING
We thought it's an April Fools' joke, but... IT ISN'T!
If you own an iPhone, you would know that storage space is always at a premium, especially if you have an entry-level model with just 16GB, like I do :(
It's frustrating to see the "not enough storage" message every time when you want to snap another photo or download a new app.
You've probably heard of many tricks to free up your iPhone's storage space, but we bet you've never heard of this one!
Nope, it doesn't involve jailbreaking!
All you have to do is to rent a movie from iTunes! A Redditor has pointed out if you rent a movie from iTunes, your iPhone will automatically delete files you don't need.
We tried the trick out and IT REALLY WORKS.
First, tap the Settings app and then tap General > Storage & iCloud Usage
Here's how much space my iPhone 5S had before the trick.
Next, open the iTunes app and rent a super long movie. "The Lord of the Rings: The Return Of The King" is a good choice at 9.94GB. The key here is to rent a movie that's bigger than the space you have left.
Proceed to tap the Rent button twice. When the pop up appears, tap Settings.
Don't worry, you won't end up renting anything and will not be charged.
Now check out your storage space! You should see a couple hundred megabytes' worth of additional available storage - possibly even more!
You could repeat the process and continue to free up more storage space!
The best part of this trick? It doesn't delete any important stuff like photos, music or apps! MIND BLOWN!
Some Redditors are suggesting that the trick probably clears out caches that shouldn't be full in the first place - suggesting a storage space issue or bug.
