The Tesla Bot, also known as Optimus, is now on display to the public at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur for a limited time — a first for Malaysia

Designed as a general-purpose robot, Optimus is Tesla's robotic innovation to help humans perform tasks that are "unsafe, repetitive, or boring".

Equipped with the same AI technology present in Tesla vehicles, the robot is still under development.

There are currently three iterations of the robot. The original prototype, first revealed in 2022, is named Bumblebee. This was followed by Optimus - Gen 1 and Optimus - Gen 2, revealed in March and December 2023 respectively.

The model on display is the Optimus - Gen 1, but it is unfortunately just a static model

In other words, visitors will not be able to interact with it or see it move.

Still, it's pretty cool to see the robot up close and learn how it can help humans.

The Tesla Optimus robot is part of a display that also features the Model 3 and Model Y

Tesla's second roadshow after its grand Malaysian launch in July last year is currently taking place at Centre Court, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from now until 11 August 2024, from 10 am to 10 pm.

You can check out Pavilion Kuala Lumpur's website here to learn more about Tesla's roadshow.
