If you are a parent, you know the struggle of having your carefully curated Spotify Wrapped hijacked by singing princesses and catchy nursery rhymes

Sharing your music account with young children usually means sacrificing your personal taste profile, leading to some truly chaotic daily mixes.

Thankfully, Spotify is finally giving parents back their algorithms with a brand-new settings toggle designed specifically to filter out children's music.

According to Spotify, the new feature allows you to exclude kids' and family music from shaping your personal recommendations.

Rolling out globally, this simple one-tap feature ensures that endless streams of animated movie soundtracks will no longer influence your Discover Weekly or Daily Mix

The best part is that this update applies retroactively, meaning all the nursery rhymes you have already endured will not show up in your next year-end recap.

You can still search for and play all your kids' favourite tunes during family road trips, but those streams will simply be ignored by the app's algorithm.

Here's how you can tweak your Spotify settings to reclaim your personal music algorithm right now:

  1. In the Spotify app, tap your profile picture in the top-left corner.
  2. Navigate to your 'Settings and privacy' page.
  3. Select 'Content and display'.
  4. Switch off the toggle next to 'Include kids and family music in taste profile'

Wait up to 48 hours for the changes to take effect.
