But that hasn't stopped the leaks and rumours from pouring in and the latest leak suggests that the iPhone 7 might be cheaper than the iPhone 6S?!

Anzuo.cn, a reputable Chinese website with a reliable track of Apple leaks posted the purported prices of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in China and Hong Kong

From the image below, Apple is rumoured to sell three models of the iPhone 7 at 5,288 RMB (RM3,211), 6,088 RMB (RM3,711), and 7,088 RMB (RM4,322), and HKD5,588 (RM2,934), HKD6,388 (RM3,354), HKD7,388 (RM3,879)

Anzuo.cn also offered current prices for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models for comparison.

As you can see, the iPhone 7 will be a better deal than the iPhone 6s because Apple has doubled the storage of all three models. Whereas the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus came in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will ship with 32GB, 128GB and 256GB storage.

This is a significant price cut from Apple and the tech giant has increased storage space without overcharging

The iPhone 6s is currently priced in Malaysia at RM3,199 (16GB), RM3,699(64GB) and RM4,199 (128GB).

If the leak by Anzuo.cn is accurate, you'll be able to purchase a 128GB iPhone 7 for a cheaper price, as compared to the 128GB iPhone 6s.

The move to double up storage looks to be something out of necessity, considering users nowadays need more space for photos, videos and music

Earlier in June, rumours and leaks suggested that Apple will be ditching the 16GB storage for good. From the looks of it, it seems to be true!

Also, it’s worth mentioning that these prices are for Hong Kong and China only, but Apple has a history of keeping prices consistent across regions, so these could very well apply to other Asian markets.

As always, take this with a grain of salt and sit tight for the long awaited unveiling on 7 September!
