The Sims 4 Will Be Free-To-Play This October And It's The Best News Ever
"We’re excited to continue to welcome in more players than ever to create new stories, and explore without boundaries."
Starting 18 October, Electronic Arts (EA) will make The Sims 4 free-to-play for all its players
EA released a statement on their platform noting, "With The Sims 4 going free to play, our team is more dedicated than ever to developing new and meaningful The Sims 4 experiences for our players and we will continue to develop and release packs, kits and Sims Delivery Express drops into the foreseeable future."
For EA Play and EA Pro members, EA will be giving an upgraded experience through their new EA Play Edition and EA Play Pro Edition
The EA Play Edition will include the Get To Work expansion pack, complete with careers like detectives, doctors, and scientists, as well as the ability to start your own retail shop.
Meanwhile, the EA Play Pro Edition will also include the Toddler Stuff expansion pack. The Toddler Stuff pack will allow you to have more creative ways for your toddler Sims to express themselves, with items such as slides and ball pits. You can even have your toddler Sims go on play dates!
Don't worry if you're one of the players who purchased The Sims 4 before the news
From 17 September to 17 October, EA will be gifting current players the Desert Luxe Kit expansion pack.
Heavily-inspired by the natural landscape of the Southwestern desert, the Desert Luxe Kit has new and luxurious furniture for indoor and outdoor areas, as well as stone and wood materials for building.
The kit will be available when you log into the game to claim at the main menu.
However, it's worth noting that the rest of the expansion packs are still not free, as additional content may require a separate purchase
