In line with the upcoming 2023 state elections (PRN23), Lumi News will be providing Malaysians with comprehensive coverage, from campaigning updates to poll-day results

As Malaysia's number one news aggregator app, their easy-to-use interface for live election results was first introduced during the 2022 General Elections (GE15).

With their latest version of the app, Lumi News is bringing a few new features to help you stay up-to-date on all the election buzz and news.

Here's a closer look at all the latest features:

1. Chat with your friends and interact with verified profiles of notable Malaysian politicians in real-time

From casual chats on your own political takes to expressing those kan cheong emotions that you just need to get out, this new interactive tool will help you stay engaged with all the updates as you wait for election results.

"News is meant to be shared and discussed, and our Chat feature is the first step in a direction that will make Lumi News more social and bring communities closer around news," said Judith Yeoh, CEO of Lumi News Malaysia.

Aside from that, users will also have the opportunity to chat with verified profiles on the app, which include politicians such as Syed Saddiq and Hannah Yeoh. Among some of the other notable profiles also include veteran news anchor, Charles Mohan.

To start your chatting journey, users will first need to create a profile on the app by customising their username, display name, and choosing their preferred Lumi character as their profile image.

2. You can also catch ceramah livestreams and receive exclusive content by politicians who will be sharing what they're advocating for

During the campaigning period, the Lumi News app will be livestreaming key ceramah videos from contesting parties and coalitions in the days leading up to PRN23.

As these livestreams are broadcasted, users can engage with each other through the Chat bubble found in the Videos tab.

"The team at Lumi News understands how critical campaign roadshows are to candidates in every election. This is their time to sway voters. So, we are excited to be hosting leading ceramah videos from the Unity Government and Opposition Parties across all six states for everyone's convenience," added Fildzah Zulkifli, Growth Marketing Manager at Lumi News Malaysia.

Ceramah livestreams can be found under the 'Ceramah PRN 2023' publisher (as displayed above).

App users can also find exclusive News Stacks published by some of Malaysia's most prominent political figures, including Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Rafizi Ramli, Hannah Yeoh, Annuar Musa, Zahid Hamidi, and more.

The exclusive News Stacks reveal what political personalities are advocating, what's on their mind, their track record, and much more. Politicians will also be crafting their own News Stacks, which can be translated into three languages (English, Malay, and Mandarin) before being published.

Gearing up for 12 August, users may customise their notification settings to receive breaking PRN23 news on the states they are interested in.

3. On polling day, stay updated on the easy-to-follow results tally which gives both a detailed and general breakdown for the outcome of the election

PRN23 will see a total of 245 seats across Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan, Penang, and Terengganu being contested.

Using the Lumi News app, Malaysians can stay updated using two main displays on its Elections tab: Detailed and Overview.

While the Detailed view gives an in-depth breakdown of the vote count per party, the Overview toggle provides a bird's eye view of which coalitions or parties are leading in the different states.

There's also a Race View with Lumi's 'running man' bar graph and emoji, which showcases which party "runs the fastest to victory".

All three views are updated live, so users will not have to go through the hassle of refreshing the page at all.
