Xiaomi's "Flagship Killer" Is Launching In Malaysia This Thursday From RM1,237
Xiaomi's latest sub-brand, Pocophone, is coming in strong.
For years, Xiaomi has been proving that affordable prices and killer features can go hand-in-hand
With its latest sub-brand, the tech company is looking to shake up the upper echelon of the smartphone market: flagship devices.
The name's Pocophone. Its first device is the F1, an Android-based handset with a really, really impressive spec sheet.
The specs include a high-end Snapdragon 845 chip, a 4,000mAh battery, a Qualcomm Adreno 630GPU, and a 20-megapixel selfie camera coupled with dual rear 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel lenses.
It's got a 6.18-inch, 1080p display which you can light up either through a fingerprint sensor or the super fancy IR-based face recognition technology (it works in the dark).
The phone comes with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. To keep it at an optimum temperature, it uses liquid cooling, a feature not commonly found on budget smartphones.
And if you were wondering, there's a headphone jack.
At the phone's official launch in Jakarta earlier today, the company also revealed the F1's availability in Malaysia. The phone is slated to arrive in Malaysia this Thursday, 30 August.
Two variants will be available: 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB, priced at RM1,237 and RM1,428 respectively.
The prices are pre-SST numbers and SoyaCincau has reported that from 10 September onwards, the 6GB+64GB model will be priced at RM1,299 and RM1,499 for the larger 128GB variant.
Where can you buy the F1?
The Pocophone F1 will be available at brick and mortar Mi Stores nationwide and Mi Store on Lazada.
As for colour options, you can choose between Graphite Black and Steel Blue.
