PMX AI is officially live
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that Malaysians can now chat with an AI avatar of him on WhatsApp.
The announcement was made through a superhero-themed video shared on his official social media accounts on Saturday, 18 July, inviting the public to interact directly with the chatbot.
The name "PMX AI" is a play on Anwar's title as Malaysia's 10th prime minister and his initials.
According to previous reports, the chatbot was trained on Anwar's official speeches, writings, and policy records approved throughout his administration, allowing it to respond in a style that closely mirrors the prime minister's distinctive way of speech
Developed by local digital services firm Zetrix AI, the chatbot is intended to provide Malaysians with accurate information about the government's policies, initiatives, and administration.
Future updates are also expected to to allow users to access selected government services directly through WhatsApp, including renewing their MyKad, passport, and driving licence, simply by chatting with PMX AI.
In his video, Anwar said the platform is also meant to give Malaysians another avenue to share their thoughts, concerns, and aspirations with the government
"Malaysia is built by the aspirations, nature, and strength of its people who are diverse in race and culture.
"Through the initiatives and efforts that are unfolding, I want to continue listening to the hopes of the young, the sacrifices of parents, senior citizens, and the voices of the people yearning for a much better future.
"I truly hope you will share your views, concerns, and aspirations directly through this avatar because I believe the country can only improve when it is guided by the voices and wishes of the people.
"I invite everyone to participate in this initiative and help create a fresh discourse for the country and its people," he wrote.
