AirAsia Is The Best Low-Cost Airline In The World For The 9th Year
A new record by the Malaysia's best.
Talk about ruling the skies and how!
AirAsia was named as the ‘World’s Best Low-Cost Airline' at the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards held at the Le Bourget Airport in Paris, France, 20 June.
And with this year's award, AirAsia set a new record
It's the ninth year in a row that AirAsia has gone on to win the Skytrax World Airline Awards for the 'World’s Best Low-Cost Airline'.
AirAsia was also named Best Low-Cost Airline in Asia.
On the other hand, AirAsia's long-haul sister airline, AirAsia X took home the ‘World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Premium Cabin’ and ‘World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Premium Seat’ awards for the fifth year in a row.
It's no small feat given the fact that the awards are considered a global benchmark of excellence and have been dubbed the "Oscars of the aviation industry"
And it only goes on to show how well the Malaysia’s best airline is doing as AirAsia and AirAsia X have won a combined 25 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes took to Facebook to share his immense joy
"What an amazing achievement.... From 2 planes to 9 times world champion. Believe the unbelievable," Tony remarked in a post he shared on his Facebook page.
While Malaysia's AirAsia clinched the 'Worlds Best Low-Cost Airline' award, Singapore's SIA was named second after Qatar Airways, which was judged the 'Airline of the Year'
