PJ Authorities Close 1 Utama And Tropicana Golf Club After Reports Of COVID-19 Cases
The Petaling District and Land Office has ordered the closure of these two locations beginning Sunday, 11 October.
The Petaling District and Land Office has ordered the closure of 1 Utama Shopping Centre and Tropicana Golf & Country Resort beginning Sunday, 11 October
According to Malaysiakini, Petaling District Disaster Management Committee chairman Johary Anuar said the closures are due to recent reports of COVID-19 cases in the said locations.
"1 Utama Shopping Centre in Bandar Utama has to-date seen four positive cases involving three employees and a visitor," he said in a statement today, 10 October.
"Meanwhile, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort in Petaling Jaya has reported five employees [with the coronavirus]."
The objective of closing the mall and the golf club is to carry out screening of close contacts and for sanitisation of the premises
The Disaster Management committee is asking for the cooperation of the public who have visited these 1 Utama outlets on the following dates to come forward and undergo the COVID-19 test:
- Parkson Elite's ground floor cosmetics and fragrance department between 30 September to 7 October,
- Mac City Service Centre on the second floor between 25 September to 30 September.
The Petaling District Health Office will be carrying out COVID-19 screening in 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 14 to 15 October
The testing will be carried out from 9am to 2pm with priority for visitors of the aforementioned outlets on the stated dates.
Those who experience symptoms before the dates of screening are urged to visit their nearest health facility for check-up and treatment.
