Selangor Princess Tengku Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah received a surprise call from one of her favourite celebrities while celebrating her 51st birthday on Saturday, 12 October

In an Instagram post yesterday, 13 October, the princess thanked Chinese actress Esther Yu for the birthday wishes and Hong Kong socialite Josephine Lau for arranging the video call.

During the video call, Tengku Zatashah can be seen smiling while Yu and Lau pose with a peace sign and finger heart, respectively.

"I told her she was great in Chinese Restaurant Season 8 and I'm looking forward to her upcoming drama series. She's so cute and sweet," the princess wrote the caption in Mandarin.

Tengku Zatashah, born to Raja Zarina Raja Tan Sri Zainal who is fluent in Mandarin, has been taking classes every week to learn the language and is a big fan of Chinese entertainment

If you follow Tengku Zatashah on social media, you will see the princess often recommending Chinese drama series when she is not participating in charitable causes.

She has also taken pictures with several prominent Asian stars, such as singers Mark Tuan and Jackson Wang.

She even has a Xiaohongshu account, a popular Chinese social media platform, using her Mandarin name as part of her handle, @zatashah扎塔莎.

Meanwhile, the actress she likes, Yu, is a Chinese actress and singer who gained fame after joining iQIYI's survival show Youth With You 2 and became part of a girl group, THE9.

According to My Drama List, the 28-year-old has acted in over 14 drama series and appeared in 31 reality shows. She released her first solo album in December 2022 after her group disbanded the previous year.
