Malaysian singer Haezee was mistaken for Taiwanese American star Wang Leehom's new girlfriend after a photo of them sitting side by side went viral

"[We are the] league of legends. All these foods are for me," Will captioned the photo.

The photo garnered over 22,600 likes and hundreds of comments, with some asking who the woman was and whether she was Leehom's new girlfriend

"Who is that woman?" asked several netizens, while an Instagram user claimed, "[She is] Leehom's new girlfriend."

Some fans quickly shut down the claim, with one saying, "What? The girl next [to Leehom] is a Malaysian female singer who performed at a music festival with them. Don't make accusations whenever you see a girl, please."

According to China Press, a spokesperson from Leehom's management team has since denied the claim that Haezee is his girlfriend.

The stars featured in the photo recently participated in the Yi Ke Yin Xiong Lian Super Concert in Guiyang, China

The music festival was held at Guiyang Olympic Sports Centre on 20 September. Besides the four artistes in the photo, Chinese singer Tia Ray was also part of the lineup.

A concert poster described Haezee as a new-generation singer-songwriter.

Haezee was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the 33rd Golden Melody Awards in 2022, and won the Singapore and Malaysia Region Promising New Voice Award at the 15th Freshmusic Awards.

The 32-year-old singer graduated from Berklee College of Music, the same college where Leehom studied and earned an honorary doctorate.

Six years ago, she participated in a talent show programme and formed a group with Taiwanese rapper-singer J.Sheon.

On Sunday, Haezee also posted the same photo with Will, Leehom, and Linong on Instagram, writing in the caption that it was a "fun night".

Meanwhile, Leehom is hailed as one of the Kings of Mandarin Pop. In 2021, he was embroiled in a controversy when his ex-wife, Li Jinglei, exposed that the megastar had been cheating on her with a slew of people.

He took a year-long hiatus after their divorce, making a comeback in February last year with a song release and beginning to make public appearances on TV shows and at events.
