The British sitcom created by Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis was played in almost every home during the '90s and was probably part of many of our childhoods. Bean is truly an icon.
Until today, we can still hear the intro song in our heads.
Contrary to popular belief, it's not a church song and it's not as sad as it sounds.
Turns out, there's actually a pretty hilarious meaning behind its lyrics.
From episode two onwards, Mr Bean falls from the sky in a beam of light with a choir singing in the background.
As he falls, a choir sings out the Latin line, "Ecce homo qui est faba", which translates into English as "Behold the man who is a bean".
It then ends with "Vale homo qui est faba", which means "Farewell, man who is a bean."
Over the years, people have been discovering this little nugget of joy and would share it with the world

In 2019, Howard Goodall, the composer behind the Mr Bean intro, even responded saying, "I didn't realise this was a secret. I am delighted to have caused some glee though, all these years later."
Now that we know the meaning, the iconic series just got even better.
Thank you Mr Bean for delighting us all these years!
