An amused mother in Bintulu, Sarawak has shared how her daughters have unexpectedly made new friends during the lockdown

Intan Nur Anum uploaded videos of her daughters calling out to a neighbour across the street from their home balcony on Twitter last Friday, 18 June.

"Pity my kids. We can't go out, so Hana and Lisa have made new lockdown friends from the balcony," she tweeted.

The mother told SAYS that six-year-old Hana and three-year-old Lisa have never met the other little girl before, but they have since bonded over their mutual love for Disney's Frozen.

"Are you wearing Elsa's clothes? Do you have this dress?" Hana can be heard shouting across to the girl donned in costume, while she brings out her own Frozen collection, such as her tiara and dress.

According to Intan, this is not the first time her daughters have called out to people from their balcony

"They just like to talk to random people and strangers, especially during the Movement Control Order (MCO)," said the mum.

"Maybe because they just want to socialise and have interactions with humans other than their parents."

Intan said her two daughters, desperate to socialise and to go outside and play, have also made friends with the family who lives directly in front of their apartment.

"There is a family there with a small baby and a nanny. My daughters like to wish good morning to them too."

The mother also guessed that her children's loud voices must have attracted the neighbourhood girl and that was how they ended up talking to each other

"Three days have passed... and they're still having their balcony meetings," Intan said, updating the Twitter thread.

Speaking to SAYS, she said the children talked about the most random things, which she finds entertaining and hilarious.

"I once heard the kid asking 'What is your mum doing?' and then 'What do you think about Maleficent?', while Lisa is always saying things out of the blue like 'I have fish food' and 'I have a pet' and bringing out all of her things to show."

Thankfully, Intan added, none of their neighbours have made a complaint about them yet.

As they have been staying at home, Intan said she has made sure to fill up their time and keep them having fun indoors

"I homeschool Lisa while Hana has home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) going on every day, but she sometimes will join Lisa too," the mother said.

As a full-time housewife, Intan also does other activities at home with them such as baking, cooking, playing Nintendo games, and sometimes, taking them for a short stroll outside the apartment when she needs to collect a parcel from the postman.

She added that they also frequently video call their aunties, uncles, and grandparents to keep them busy.

Intan's tweet has garnered over 6,000 likes and over 3,000 retweets since Friday, with many netizens finding her daughters' shenanigans adorable

"I love watching children like this, I just want to listen to them chat about anything," said a Twitter user.

Another laughed and suggested, "After this, you can buy them binoculars. Don't think you can connect a string and papercup phone for them."

Meanwhile, another netizen shared a similar experience. Replying to Intan, she said, "Meanwhile, my niece made her own friend... She drew her and named her Lili."
