"Chief Meow" — Cat Leisurely Sits On & Blocks Exit Gate Scanner At LRT Station
"The cat's making sure the card gets tapped," wrote one commenter.
It's not uncommon to find stray cats at various places across Malaysia — and sometimes, doing the most unusual things
A recent TikTok featuring such an instance has been making waves online.
Photographer and content creator Sou Aras recently captured an instance while she was at the Dato Keramat LRT station. In the 23-second clip, Sou can be seen walking towards the exit gate of the station.
As she approaches the gate, she encounters a stray cat casually sitting on top of the scanner that commuters need to tap with their token or Touch 'n Go card before entering or exiting the station. Completely uninterested, the cat does not budge when Sou tries to scan her card.
Sou proceeds to pet the cat and play with it for a brief moment. After awhile, the cat slowly gets up and allows Sou to scan her Touch 'n Go card before leaving the LRT station.

From pointing out a small grin that can be seen on the cat's face to jokes being made about how the animal is the chief of the station, others even said that there was a "cat tax" that needed to be paid before commuters may exit the station.
"It said, 'I own this place, scan to pass'," wrote one user in a light-hearted manner.
Another user even jokingly added that they have encountered a similar cat at the LRT station in Jelatek.
