Guy Orders 'Sirap Limau Ikat Tepi' At Mamak But Receives This Instead
Technically, not wrong.
A guy recently took to TikTok to share a hilarious 'misunderstanding' between him and a waiter at a local mamak street stall in Cyberjaya
TikTok user @shazztodak shared a video of what he received after ordering sirap limau ikat tepi at a restaurant called Sepinggan.
If you don't speak Bahasa Melayu, 'sirap limau' is a drink made from rose cordial and lime. 'Ikat tepi' refers to when a drink is poured into a plastic bag for takeout, often partially tied, with a straw inserted in the open part.
Here's an example of what ikat tepi should look like:

Upon ordering his sirap limau, the man received something so surprising that he couldn't help but whip out his phone to record it
The drink itself appeared to be correct, but it wasn't served in a plastic bag. Instead, it came in a cup and a lime was attached to it with a rubber band.
Here's what he received:

The epic 'misunderstanding' had both the waiter and customer chuckling together
As the man recorded the amusing scene, he asked the waiter why the lime was tied around the cup.
The waiter responded by saying it was ikat tepi, just as he had requested, while they both continued to laugh.

Speaking to SAYS, the customer said that this specific waiter enjoys teasing him frequently as he's a regular at the restaurant
He also shared that he did get the correct sirap limau order in the end, after asking the waiter to change it.
The video has garnered over 250,000 likes and 8,800 comments.
One person commented that this is the real limau ikat tepi, to which the customer replied, "I want to say the waiter is wrong, but he's actually right too."Image via TikTok
"Thinking outside of the box," wrote another, and the customer jokingly replied with, "I'm out of patience."

The only question now is, "How did he get the rubber band through that lime?"
