Kids — our little bundles of joy.

That is, until they threaten to put you in debt for RM17,000 at McDonald's.

A viral TikTok video uploaded recently by @rmdhn_._ captures two kids who somehow managed to rack up a hefty RM17,000 bill at a McDonald's self-service kiosk.

In the clip, a boy and a girl of roughly primary school age are adding items to their respective carts and constantly looking over at each other's screens, presumably to compete with each other on who could rack up the highest total.

At one point, the little girl is seen aggressively tapping on the "+" button for one of the items to multiply her order, in the end ordering RM188 worth of corn.

Towards the end, the girl seems to "win" the game and starts doing a little happy dance. We then catch a glimpse of her screen, and the eye-watering total comes up to RM17,152!

The video has since garned 4.8 million views and 346,000 likes from mortified (but mostly amused) TikTok users who had varied but equally hilarious reactions

"Where's their mom? It's infuriating just to watch this... and they're dancing too," one netizen commented.

Another user wondered how long they must've been at it to reach RM17,000.

"If I worked there, I'd just make the order and then ask their parents to come pay. Who told them not to watch their kids?" one commenter joked.

Two users were simply amused that the kids were treating it as a game.

"17k — are these kids treating a school or a village?" another commenter quipped.

Perhaps most relatable of all is one TikTok user who reminisced on when kids would press on the number pads of public telephones instead of digital self-service kiosks.
