A 63-year-old woman in China recently went viral on the Chinese social media platform, Xiaohongshu, for her lean figure and youthful appearance

According to the South China Morning Post, despite her age, Zhenzhen dedicated herself to regular gym workouts for the past eight years ever since retiring.

Born in October 1960, she stands at 160cm tall, weighs 46kg, and boasts a 17% body fat percentage, leaving many in awe of her vitality and youthful glow.

In a viral post on Xiaohongshu, Zhenzhen shared how her fitness journey has transformed her perspective on ageing

She expressed belief that while ageing is inevitable, maintaining health and happiness can relieve any anxieties about growing older.

"Now, I can feel how the vitality of my body is slowly improving each day, and I sweat for the feeling of accomplishment.

"I don't think any of us can overcome ageing, but if I am healthy and happy as I get old, then I have nothing to be anxious about," she said.

Zhenzhen, a mother to a 36-year-old son and a former project manager, initially struggled with life post-retirement, feeling anxious about ageing and lacking purpose in her daily life

She decided to embark on a fitness journey after witnessing an elderly man struggling to walk. This encounter prompted her to prioritise her health and wellbeing.

For the past eight years, she has dedicated two hours every day to gym training, focusing on strength and balance under the guidance of a personal trainer.

"Fitness makes me feel vitalised. I'm always so focused on exercising that I don't have time to think about the fact that I'm the oldest aunty at the gym.

"There was a time when I thought I was at the age to say goodbye to tight leggings and tight skirts. Now, there is so much less of the flab that plagued my waist and arms. I love my post-workout body lines," she said.

Despite her age, Zhenzhen has never undergone cosmetic procedures to maintain her youthful appearance

Her story has resonated with many, who admire her discipline, persistence, and positive attitude towards ageing.

"When I retired, I agreed with my fitness trainer that I would try to work out until I am 65."

"At today's training, I told him that I'm going to continue until I'm 70," she said.
