Jalan Alor is a popular food street in the heart of Bukit Bintang, KL that's easily accessible, especially if you're staying right in the city. The best part is that they close at the wee hours of the morning every day, so if you're having a late night out, head here for some supper!

3. Central Market

Just around the corner from Petaling Street is Central Market, which is a great spot if you're looking for souvenirs to take home. Originally constructed in 1888 as a wet market for locals, the building has since been turned into a cultural centre.
Central Market has around 350 shops and kiosks selling handicrafts, batik, antiques, and a variety of other artsy items.
There are also craft-making demonstrations, a fish spa, DIY batik painting, massages, henna art, and Chinese calligraphy, among other fun activities.
Central Market is open daily from 10am to 9.30pm.
4. REXKL

Located just a stone's throw away from Petaling Street as well is REXKL — a once popular theatre back in the '70s that has since been turned into a creative space filled with local eateries, bars, and a huge bookstore. Be sure to explore every floor, as there are lots of hidden nooks to discover in the building!
They occasionally host events, workshops, and concerts at night, which you can check out if you're into the creative and arts scene.

5. Petronas Twin Towers

The 88-storey Petronas Twin Towers is a popular tourist attraction that many often frequent. On the base of the towers is a shopping complex, which makes up six floors of the buildings. It has plenty of retail stores, a food court, and even a cinema.
If you need some fresh air after being indoors all day, you can take a stroll at the KLCC Park with pretty water fountains located right in front of the twin towers.

6. Perdana Botanical Garden

If you need to walk off all the eating during your trip, head to Perdana Botanical Garden, formerly known as Lake Gardens KL. It's one of the larger parks in the city centre.
Within the vicinity, you can visit the Orchid Garden and Hibiscus Garden.
Admission into the Perdana Botanical Garden is free, though there is a RM1 charge per person for the Orchid and Hisbiscus Gardens on weekends.

7. KL Bird Park

About a 10-minute drive from Perdana Botanical Garden is the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, which is said to be the world's largest free-flight walk-in aviary.
Home to more than 3,000 birds, the 20-acre bird park is a popular tourist attraction definitely worth a visit if you're in KL!

Located within the Petronas Twin Towers is the largest oceanarium in Malaysia, known as Aquaria KLCC.
It houses 5,000 sea creatures and features a 90m-underwater tunnel which visitors can walk through to get up close and personal with marine life.

10. Batu Caves

Known as one of the many main attractions in Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves is a series of cave temples which serve as a prominent pilgrimage site for Hindus.
A large gold-painted statue of Murugan will greet you at the base of the hill, before you walk up a flight of 272 colourful steps to enter the caves.
Just be mindful of the cheeky monkeys who roam the area. They are known for snatching items!
11. Thean Hou Temple

Thean Hou Temple is a six-tiered temple of the Chinese sea goddess Mazu. It is said to be one of the largest and oldest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia, and a popular tourist attraction in the city.
12. National Mosque of Malaysia

Built between 1963 and 1965, the National Mosque of Malaysia is located just 1km away from the Perdana Botanical Garden.
Non-Muslims are welcome to visit the mosque outside of prayer hours to admire the building's interior and architecture.
13. Sultan Abdul Samad Building

Recognised as one of the historical landmarks in the city, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building is a late nineteenth century structure that has often appeared in postcards. It was one of KL's most famous landmarks before the Petronas Twin Towers were built.
Although tourists often flock to take photos of its exterior, entering the building has long been prohibited to the public as it now serves as a government department.
