Monopoly recently launched a Penang edition set that takes you through the island's must-see places and iconic landmarks

The game was launched in November last year, becoming the first Monopoly game created in Malaysia that focuses on a particular region of the country.

Now, you'll be able to proudly say, "I bought the Penang Bridge!"

Buy and trade iconic sites such as Kek Lok Si Temple, Penang Hill, and the bustling streets of George Town, each representing a piece of Penang's rich tapestry.

Other locations include Batu Ferringhi, Armenian Street, Komtar, Fort Cornwallis, Swettenham Pier, Queensbay Mall, Gurney Plaza, Clan Jetties, and many more.

The set also includes pretty unconventional locations like The Granite Luxury Hotel and Courtyard by Marriot Penang, which aren't the typical places Penangites would go for a stay on the island.

According to Gempak, the Chance & Community Chest cards are inspired by popular local businesses. For example, one card reads, "Explore Butterworth's Art Murals at Jalan Bagan Luar. Collect M150." And another card reads, "You paint a landscape of Hean Boo Thean Kuan Yin Temple from Tan Jetty and sell your masterpiece to a fan. Collect M10."

Most of the tokens in the Penang edition are the same as the original, except for the wheelbarrow and boot, which have been retired from standard editions.

The Penang edition is available in both physical and online stores

You can purchase it at select retail outlets across Malaysia, including BookXcess, Kinokuniya, Twigs, Tsutaya, York House, Hamleys, Toys R Us, and Foreva Kids.

Alternatively, you can purchase it online through IMAGINEGAMES on Shopee and Design Village's official website.

Different stores may sell it at slightly varying rates, but we've generally seen the set being sold for between RM185 and RM189.90.
