According to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government's statement on 1 July, relocation to strata and landed properties is allowed during Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

However, renovation works in general are not allowed, unless it is required for the safety of a property – such as iron grilles and electrical appliances.

On the other hand, installation of Internet and communication services that do not involve persistent loud noises are allowed, by complying with the construction standard operating procedures (SOPs), issued by the Ministry of Works.

Previously, the government announced that the EMCO in selected areas in KL and Selangor will be imposed until 16 July, but what happens next is still uncertain.

If you're located within an EMCO area and need to relocate urgently, the best thing to do is to clarify your situation with authorities directly before planning your move.

STEP 1:
If you are the owner of the new home, you need to obtain a Movement Permit from PDRM for yourself, as well as the mover company involved.

If you are renting, the property owner will have to obtain a Movement Permit for themselves and the mover company involved.

STEP 2:
Whether you're moving in or out of a strata property, you are required to inform the management of the date and time of the relocation, as well as information related to the movers.

STEP 3:
If you are planning on doing any installation works, you can arrange for them to be done before your actual move. Find out about the construction SOPs by the Ministry of Works.
