It's been a whole month of feel good news for Malaysia!
For starters, we're at 34 gold medals at the Hanoi SEA Games 2022, just two gold medals shy from our target, with four days to go.
But that's not all, 'cause we've been shining in all kinds of different ways, from global karate tournaments to Pulitzer prizes, and even international success at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Malaysia really boleh, lah!

2. Local karate team defies all odds to win the country's first gold at global tournament

A private Malaysian team, representing International Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Sei-bu-kan Karate-Do Association of Malaysia (IOSSKAM), won the country's first gold medal at the International Open Karate Tournament in France. The group came back with one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals, as well as two trophies.
3. Malaysian-born journalist wins Pulitzer Prize for his photography

38-year-old Marcus Yam, who was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, was named the 49th Pulitzer Prize winner along with four other journalists for his coverage of the departure of US forces after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
4. Award-winning Johorean climbs to new heights at NASA

After working at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center for over 32 years, Muar-born Florence Tan has been appointed as the deputy chief technologist in the agency's Science Mission Directorate.
Previously, Tan, an electrical engineer by training, designed, built, and wrote software for mass spectrometers at Goddard's laboratories to be used on NASA space flight operations, including on the moon, Mars, Saturn, and Titan (a moon of Saturn).
