A favourite among Japanese expats, Yashi-no-mi is a traditional izakaya that has been around since 1998, serving what many describe to be "tasty, home-cooked Japanese fusion meals".

As you step into the unassuming diner, prepare to be greeted by a captivating sight — a welcoming bar adorned with shelves brimming with an enticing selection of sake, shochu, whisky, and more, accompanied by rows of manga.

It feels like stepping into the '90s with the blend of furniture, ranging from wooden tables and leather sofas to tinted windows that add to the restaurant's quaint ambiance

The humble eatery is relatively small, able to accommodate about 20 customers at a time.

It's almost as if you're being transported to a cosy izakaya nestled on the streets of Tokyo.

The homey ambiance of the restaurant makes it a good escape to unwind over a couple of drinks or a quiet evening meal after a long day of work.

On the menu are a variety of dishes, including omurice, donburi, Japanese curry rice, spaghetti, and otsumami

Some recommended items are pork ginger grilled rice bowl, mentaiko omurice, pork cutlet curry, and chicken karaage.
