The Michelin Guide has unveiled 24 new restaurants in Kuala Lumpur and Penang for 2025, recognising them in three categories: Star, Bib Gourmand, and Selected

In a ceremony yesterday, 14 November, the prestigious culinary award organisation announced that 143 restaurants and eateries in Malaysia have now received recognition.

Of these, 24 are new: two received One Michelin Star, 12 were awarded the Bib Gourmand, and 10 were added to the Michelin Selected category.

Michelin Stars represent the highest honour, with three stars being the pinnacle. This is followed by the Bib Gourmand, which is awarded to restaurants that offer high-quality food at great value. The Michelin Selected category recognises restaurants noted by Michelin inspectors for their overall quality.

Dewakan, Malaysia's only Two Michelin Star restaurant located in Naza Tower, Kuala Lumpur, has not only retained its title but has also been awarded the country's first Michelin Green Star for its commitment to sustainability.
