12 Places Offering Affordable Menu Rahmah Meals From As Low As RM4.50

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) launched the Menu Rahmah programme earlier this year to encourage restaurants to sell meals at affordable prices

With 15,000 restaurants having committed to the initiative to provide meals from as low as RM5, the government hopes that low income groups can afford to buy food despite the rising cost of living.

Here's a list of popular places offering Menu Rahmah meals:

1. Mydin

One of the first places to adopt the Menu Rahmah initiative is supermarket chain, Mydin, which promises lunch and dinner set meals for RM4.90 at all of its 28 branches nationwide.

The set meals change every day and comprises of rice, either chicken or fish, a portion of vegetables, and a bottle of mineral water.

2. Burger King

Burger King is the first major fast food chain to adopt the Menu Rahmah initiative.

Customers have the option of choosing either the BK Chick'N Crisp or Cheesy Beef burger and a bottle of mineral water for RM5.

3. OldTown White Coffee

OldTown White Coffee is offering a Nasi Lemak Rahmah set at RM4.50, or with additional sausage or minced chicken at RM5. All sets come with a lime drink.

4. AEON BiG

AEON BiG has different Menu Rahmah meals every day of the week from 20 February to 19 March at all of their outlets, except in Sri Petaling and Mid Valley.

Interested customers can buy the meals or pastries at RM4.95 per set from 12pm to 2pm daily.

5. Hotbox & Chatime

From 3 February to 28 February, you can get Hotbox's Chicken DC or Beef Frankfurter hot dogs and Chatime's Pearl Milk Tea or Grass Jelly Roasted Milk Tea at the price of RM5 each!

The promotion is available at all Chatime outlets, except in Genting Highlands, and is available from 3pm to 6pm every Wednesday to Friday.

6. Restoran Ali Maju

The KPDN Minister lauded this mamak chain for also participating in the Menu Rahmah programme and for offering RM5 meals at their many outlets in the Klang Valley.

7. Ayam Pak Sheikh, Selangor

This restaurant in Subang Jaya is participating in the government's campaign by preparing a Nasi Sambal with white rice, salad, cucumbers, sambal hijau, and two pieces of fried chicken for RM5 at their store.

8. Warong Pecel Lele, Cyberjaya

You can buy either pecel ayam, pecel lele, soto ayam, gado-gado, or mee ayam at RM5 at this food stall at the TSI Sports Arena in Cyberjaya.

9. Seri Kasih Cafe Tangkak, Johor

You can find a RM5 meal at this cafe in Tangkak every day from 7.30am to 5pm. It comes with white rice, either fried chicken or fish, and vegetables with curry.

The cafe said they are also willing to deliver to customers around the Tangkak area for free in spirit of the programme.

10. Lanostra Chocolate, Johor

Another restaurant in Johor said they will offer RM5 set meals with a bottle of water from Sunday to Friday at their shop.

"We share, we care, we dare," they said.

11. Waibie Cafe Kuala Kangsar, Perak

In Kuala Kangsar, Perak, customers can find an affordable meal at this restaurant at RM4.90 each. It comes with white rice, fried chicken with sambal penyet, tempeh, and soup.

12. Good Good Lucksaa, Kedah

This laksa store in Sungai Petani, Kedah, is also offering different types of laksa on their Menu Rahmah rotation, which is available from 12pm to 2pm every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
