A 15-year-old girl from Tawau, Sabah, who went missing after leaving for school on Friday morning, 23 August, has been allegedly raped by three men before authorities found her at 1am yesterday, 27 August

Tawau district police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the victim was found in Kampung Jawa and was brought to the Tawau police headquarters for further investigation.

She was last seen at her home in Kampung Tanjung Keramat at 5am on Friday.

Her elder sister, 39, told the media that the victim failed to return home after informing her family that she would be coming home late.

Later the same day, her family discovered that she didn't attend school.

After failing to locate the victim, they lodged a missing persons report at the Tawau district police headquarters at 2.51pm on Sunday, 25 August.

Police have since arrested two men, both aged 29, and a 15-year-old boy

They were held on suspicion of raping the teenage girl, Jasmin said.

The victim had claimed that she was sexually assaulted by the three suspects, whom she knew.

Jasmin said the three individuals have been remanded until 4 September to assist in the investigation.
