Air Selangor: 68% Of Water Supply Has Been Restored To Affected Areas

The least amount of water supply has been restored in Klang compared to the other districts affected.

Air Selangor announced that water supply in the 998 areas affected by the recent water disruption has been restored by 68%

Air Selangor Sdn Bhd corporate communication head Elina Baseri told Bernama that water supply in Hulu Selangor has been fully restored as of noon today, 15 October.

Meanwhile, the supply in Kuala Selangor has reached 99.4% and 94.2% in Shah Alam.

In Petaling, 89.8% of water supply has been restored while Kuala Langat has reached 85.7% and Kuala Lumpur is now at 38.6%.

The Klang district has seen the least amount of water supply restored at only 16.8%.

The duration of water supply disruption and restoration in the affected areas will vary depending on the location of the consumer's premises and the water pressure on the water supply distribution system

Elina explained, "Air Selangor continues to mobilise alternative water supply assistance via tanker trucks to critical premises such as hospitals, dialysis centres, COVID-19 quarantine and treatment centres and vaccination centres (PPV), as well as for use at funeral ceremonies."

Consumers are advised to let the taps flow for a while until the water turns clear before use

Elina also urged consumers to use water prudently to ensure the recovery process in the affected area runs smoothly as scheduled.

The status of water supply restoration will be updated from time to time through Air Selangor's official communication channels including its website, mobile application, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Air Selangor had explained that the implementation of the maintenance work was previously scheduled in 2019 and consequently in 2020:
