An Ambulance Was Stopped For Inspection & JPJ Finds Out Its Road Tax Expired 13 Years Ago
The ambulance was transporting a patient to a hospital.
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) in Perak has seized an ambulance that hasn't had its insurance coverage and road tax renewed for 13 years
According to Harian Metro, the ambulance is owned by an emergency rescue service agency.
In a Facebook post, Perak JPJ said officers from the Motorcycle Enforcement Unit (UPB) halted the ambulance while patrolling Jalan Tun Abdul Razak, Ipoh.
After inspecting the ambulance through the Smart Management Enforcement Device (SMED), they discovered that the vehicle's licence and road tax had expired on 5 March 2010.

JPJ also revealed that the ambulance was transporting a patient to the Sultanah Bayrun Hospital (HRPB) before it was stopped.
The ambulance driver was instructed to send the patient to the hospital first before bringing the vehicle to JPJ's headquarters in Perak for further examination.
The vehicle was impounded and issued a notice for two offences — driving a vehicle with an expired road tax and not having insurance coverage.
