The rescuers spent more than an hour searching for the victim.
A photo provided by APM to Berita Harian shows an official holding onto his colleague, who had plunged his upper body into the sewage drain in an attempt to search for the victim.
After more than an hour of searching within the sewage facility, a 27-year-old Myanmar man suddenly appeared at the scene.
"The man stated that he was the victim who fell into the manhole while mowing the grass after stepping on a metal cover above a sewage hole.
"The victim said he immediately clung onto the lawnmower machine to climb up, before returning home to clean himself up," Ahmad Junaidi said.
Following the explanation, the search operation was called off at 7.30pm. The Myanmar national did not sustain any injuries from the fall into the foul-smelling drain.
