Twins' Search For Mum During Siam Paragon Shooting Leaves The Internet Grieving
A survivor shared that when they inquired the police, the officers said that the twins' mother had passed away.
A picture showing a pair of five-year-old twins crying out for help to search for their mother during the Siam Paragon shooting has stirred a wave of sympathy among the online community
Som Doung, a survivor of the shooting shared on X the social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, recounted the harrowing moment when the Chinese twins approached her to look for their missing mother at the mall in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday, 4 October.
"The twins could not find their mother who had been shot and they came up to me, asking for help to search for their mother," the survivor wrote in the caption of the image.
She also mentioned that she did her best to assist the kids, even though her phone battery was at 1%, which made it even harder for her to help them.
The survivor recalled the heart-wrenching moment when one of the twins asked her if their mother was going to die
"The child asked if their mother was going to die. I tried to console the children, telling them that their mother was just injured and they would find her soon," she wrote.
However, Som shared that when they inquired the police, the officers said that the twins' mother had passed away.
"I feel like crying, and I feel so bad for the pair of twins," Som lamented.
She also expressed her frustration towards the perpetrator who caused the twins to lose their mother in such a tragic manner.
Som concluded the post by saying that it was the saddest day of her life, especially after narrowly escaping death from the shooting incident.
Thai police earlier confirmed that two individuals, a Chinese national and a Myanmar national, died in the shooting, while five others were injured.
In the comment section of the post, many offered condolences and expressed their heartfelt emotions
"I feel very sad for the kids," lamented one user.
"It breaks my heart," grieved another.
One user stated, "Some kids kill others (referring to the 14-year-old suspect), while some kids lose their mother. I feel so sorry for them."
"Sending virtual hugs for you little girls," wrote another user.
