Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring the welfare and education of autistic children during the tabling of Budget 2025

As part of these efforts, 11 new PERMATA Centres will be established to ensure each state has a dedicated facility for educating autistic children. This includes new centres in Kelantan, Terengganu, Sabah, and Sarawak.

Additionally, two new special needs schools will be constructed in Tuaran, Sabah, and Johor Bahru, with a budget of RM300 million. The school in Johor Bahru will be the first in the country to focus entirely on education for autistic children.

The government will continue to provide a Special Needs Student Allowance of RM150 per month, benefiting over 110,000 students with disabilities, including those with autism

This initiative involves a total allocation of RM200 million.

To further ease the financial burden on eligible parents, the government will introduce an Autism Learning Fee Assistance programme, benefiting 30,000 autistic children with a fund of RM15 million.

To ensure a comfortable and inclusive learning environment, RM10 million has been allocated to help private autism schools registered with the Ministry of Education improve their learning facilities.

Moreover, a new Autism Service Centre will be developed to support the autism community, with a funding allocation of RM5 million.

In addition, the tax relief for expenses related to the treatment and rehabilitation of autistic children will be increased from RM4,000 to RM6,000.
