BMW Passengers 'Chupping' A Parking Spot In PJ Shows People Still Don't Get Why It's Wrong
Sigh.
Just when we thought that the 'chupping' parking spot trend was left in 2018, someone has not failed to amaze us yet again
In the past few years, there have been several incidents of people 'chupping' or 'reserving' parking spots with objects like flower pots, traffic cones, and even human bodies.

Last year in March, a woman in 1 Utama was seen trying to 'chup' an empty parking spot by standing over it.
A couple of months after, another person tried to pull the same stunt in Mid Valley.
Despite it being counted as an offence under Section 50 (3) of the Road Transport Act 1987, the "reservation culture" seems to have made a comeback.
The most recent case took place in Damansara Utama, PJ when a BMW's passengers allegedly 'chupped' an empty parking spot by standing over it
In a series of tweets on 11 August, Twitter user Sumisha Naidu wrote that a group of people ran out of a Singapore-registered BMW to 'reserve' the spot ahead of her.

After she explained to them that they could not reserve the spot, the group allegedly replied, "If you don't move, you'll cause a jam"
They also took down her number plate in an attempt to intimidate her.
However, when she started to take photos of them, they walked off and gave up the space.

Her tweet has since received over 3,000 retweets.
She also tweeted some clarifications, such as not knowing that the white BMW was a Singapore-registered vehicle
Despite being thankful for the support from netizens, Sumisha added that she did not want the incident to turn into a racial issue.
It was not too long before one person dug deeper into the Internet world and allegedly discovered that the BMW's road tax had expired.
Guys, just please stop being so kiasu please?
